Overview
We are seeking an experienced Event Management Consultant to join a Hosting and Tooling team supporting a secure, large-scale government environment. This role combines operational support (RUN) and project delivery, working closely with engineers, analysts, and client stakeholders to deliver and enhance enterprise monitoring and event management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with client teams, providing technical guidance and support
- Design and implement event management policies across services and platforms
- Perform high-level functional analysis to support business and technical requirements
- Maintain and optimise operational tooling in line with service commitments
- Contribute to project delivery, working with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards and reporting solutions
- Produce clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams
- Support continuous improvement through automation and tooling enhancements

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong experience with enterprise monitoring and event management tooling
- Hands-on expertise with BMC TrueSight (including orchestration and discovery)
- Splunk (SPL, dashboards, advanced logic/rules)
- Experience with agent deployment, configuration, and platform customisation
- Knowledge of SNMP/MIB management
- Strong experience across Windows, Linux, and AIX environments
- Scripting experience (e.g. Python, PowerShell)
- Understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure monitoring
- Experience integrating systems via APIs (e.g. REST)
Desirable:
- Exposure to tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds, IBM Tivoli, Netcool
- SQL knowledge
- Experience delivering in secure or government environments
Additional Information
