Our Client is looking for an experienced
Export Warehouse Operations Manager to take ownership of our busy Heathrow export warehouse operation.
This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to keep the operation ticking over.
We want an experienced airfreight professional who can look ahead, take control and make things better .
You'll oversee the export operation from planning through to dispatch , making sure the warehouse is prepared before freight arrives, resources are in the right place, priorities are understood and shipments move through the operation safely, accurately and efficiently.
Working closely with our Warehouse Manager, Transport and Operations teams, you'll have the authority and opportunity to improve how we work, strengthen our processes and develop the people around you.
- What you'll be doing
- Taking overall responsibility for the performance of our export warehouse operation.
- Planning ahead for expected freight volumes, airline cut-offs, transport movements, capacity and resources.
- Ensuring freight moves efficiently from arrival through screening, preparation and final dispatch.
- Working closely with Transport and Operations to prevent delays and resolve issues before they impact customers.
- Identifying bottlenecks, recurring problems and inefficient working practices – and fixing them.
- Reviewing, writing and implementing SOPs and improved operational processes.
- Driving operational performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Leading and developing the Warehouse Manager and wider operational team.
- Strengthening training, cross-training and competency across the warehouse.
- Developing succession plans so we have capable people ready to step into key roles.
- Maintaining high standards of CAA security, Health & Safety and operational compliance.
- Who we're looking for
You'll need to be an experienced operational leader who understands the pace and demands of airfreight exports .
We're particularly interested in someone who can demonstrate
- Strong experience within airfreight, export warehouse or freight forwarding operations .
- Proven warehouse operations management and people leadership experience.
- A strong understanding of export freight handling and airline cut-offs.
- The ability to plan ahead rather than simply react to operational problems.
- Experience improving processes and implementing effective SOPs.
- The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and drive positive change.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to bring Warehouse, Transport and Operations together.
- A good understanding of CAA aviation security requirements.
- A genuine focus on developing people and building a high-performing operation.
