About the Project We are building a new consumer technology venture at the intersection of human measurement, scientific research, computer vision and personalised analysis. The venture is being developed by experienced entrepreneurs alongside a globally recognised model, actor and digital creator with approximately 4 million combined followers and 50 million monthly impressions across major social platforms. The project is currently in an early research and development phase and is intentionally operating in stealth while we establish the scientific methodology and technical architecture. We are now looking for an exceptional scientific researcher or consultant to work directly with the founders and help develop the scientific measurement framework underlying the product. This is an opportunity to become involved at a very early stage and materially influence how the methodology is constructed. The Role The initial objective is not simply to conduct literature reviews. We want someone capable of helping us turn established research on human morphology and measurement into a rigorous, reproducible methodology that can eventually be implemented within software. You would work directly with the founders and, where appropriate, external technical and scientific specialists. Your work may include: β€’ Reviewing scientific literature relating to anthropometry, human morphology and quantitative human measurement. β€’ Identifying scientifically supported anatomical landmarks, measurements, ratios, indices and reference datasets. β€’ Helping define a structured measurement framework across relevant aspects of human morphology. β€’ Evaluating the validity, reliability and repeatability of potential measurements. β€’ Helping establish appropriate reference populations, ranges and comparison methodologies. β€’ Examining how variables such as sex, age and population differences affect interpretation. β€’ Distinguishing objective measurement from higher-level interpretation and identifying where scientific evidence becomes insufficient. β€’ Helping design protocols for standardised image and measurement capture. β€’ Working with technical contributors to translate scientific measurement definitions into computational specifications. β€’ Helping design validation and repeatability testing. β€’ Identifying methodological limitations and challenging unsupported assumptions made by the founding team. β€’ Helping establish the scientific foundations upon which a much larger technology platform could subsequently be built. Who We Are Looking For We are deliberately open-minded regarding exact academic background. Relevant expertise may include: β€’ Anthropometry β€’ Human morphology β€’ Biological anthropology β€’ Craniofacial morphology β€’ Geometric morphometrics β€’ Biomechanics β€’ Body composition research β€’ Human measurement science β€’ Quantitative anatomy β€’ Orthodontic or craniofacial research β€’ Computer vision applied to human measurement β€’ Closely related quantitative disciplines Applications are particularly welcome from exceptional: β€’ MSc graduates; β€’ PhD candidates; β€’ postdoctoral researchers; β€’ early-career academics; β€’ researchers transitioning into industry; β€’ and experienced specialists interested in consulting. We care substantially more about intellectual ability, scientific rigour and practical problem-solving than seniority or job title. What We Value The right person will: β€’ Think quantitatively and critically. β€’ Understand how to evaluate scientific evidence rather than simply cite it. β€’ Be comfortable challenging the founders. β€’ Be interested in translating academic research into a real consumer product. β€’ Understand the distinction between correlation, normative data and causal evidence. β€’ Care about measurement validity and reproducibility. β€’ Be capable of explaining complex scientific concepts clearly to non-specialists. β€’ Be excited by an ambiguous early-stage problem where much of the methodology still needs to be constructed.
