Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the global tax strategy across all jurisdictions, including the US and Europe.
- Design and optimise tax-efficient structures across corporate entities, investments, and joint ventures with private capital, including infrastructure and private equity partners.
- Support private capital fundraising alongside asset manager partners and ensure optimal structuring of both debt and equity financing.
- Maintain tax efficiency across the full asset lifecycle, from development through to operation.
- Lead tax structuring and optimisation across corporate fundraising, capital raises, and infrastructure or technology investments and acquisitions.
- Support the structuring of joint ventures and strategic partnerships with asset managers and large corporates.
- Conduct tax diligence on potential acquisitions as the business scales and expands its capabilities.
- Work closely with finance, corporate development, and external advisors to support transaction execution, and assess the tax implications of commercial contracts, financing arrangements, and new business initiatives.
- Oversee tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including Europe and the US.
- Develop and manage transfer pricing frameworks, including those related to intellectual property, while monitoring permanent establishment risk.
- Implement effective withholding tax and repatriation strategies and support cross-border joint ventures with asset manager partners.
- Ensure alignment with evolving international tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Establish and maintain a robust tax governance and risk management framework.
- Manage relationships with external advisors, including Big 4 firms, legal counsel, and specialist advisors.
- Engage with tax authorities where required and ensure that all tax structures are compliant, defensible, and aligned with the long-term platform strategy.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, capital markets, and strategy teams to inform capital structuring decisions, optimise investor returns, and shape long-term platform economics.
- Support cash flow planning and capital allocation decisions from a tax perspective, and partner with accounting and finance teams to ensure alignment between tax strategy and financial reporting.
- Build and scale the tax function in line with business growth.
- Establish processes, controls, and documentation to support a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction platform, and drive continuous improvement across tax processes, systems, and reporting.
About You
- You bring significant tax experience from private equity or infrastructure funds, ideally within high-growth sectors, alongside exposure to real assets, energy, or digital infrastructure.
- You have a proven track record of structuring complex cross-border investments and deep expertise in international tax, financing structures, and investment structuring.
- Experience operating in a high-growth or scaling environment is essential.
- You have a strong commercial mindset and understand the impact of tax decisions on returns and capital efficiency.
- You are comfortable building structure and processes from scratch and can operate effectively at both a strategic and execution level.
- You are motivated to build and develop a team as the business grows.
- You demonstrate strong judgment and integrity, particularly in complex, high-stakes environments, and are collaborative and solutions-oriented, with the ability to influence across finance, legal, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience within infrastructure, energy, data centres, or other capital-intensive industries is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with US and European tax environments is important, ideally with some exposure to public company environments.
- Experience supporting fundraising, investor structuring, and capital deployment strategies, as well as working within high-growth or rapidly scaling organisations, would be advantageous.
