We're supporting a fast-growing, venture-backed technology business in the appointment of an

Onboarding Specialist to join its People Operations team.

This is an opportunity to own the entire new hire journey—from offer acceptance through to the first 30 days—ensuring every employee has an exceptional onboarding experience.

You'll be the central point of contact for new joiners, coordinating across People Operations, IT and Hiring Managers to deliver a seamless, engaging and well-structured onboarding programme.

The Role

Reporting to the

Head of People Operations , you'll take ownership of pre-boarding and onboarding activities across a globally growing organisation.

You'll ensure every new hire arrives fully prepared, equipped and engaged while continuously improving the onboarding experience through data, feedback and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Boarding & New Hire Experience
  • Own the end-to-end pre-boarding journey from offer acceptance through Day One.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all new joiners before they start.
  • Coordinate contracts, benefits, equipment, system access and welcome communications to ensure every employee is ready to hit the ground running.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS, ensuring data quality and compliance.
  • Manage and continuously improve the company Buddy Programme.
  • Day One & First 30 Days
  • Deliver an engaging and structured Day One experience for all employees.
  • Monitor completion of onboarding tasks, mandatory training and role objectives throughout the first 30 days.
  • Coordinate onboarding events including welcome sessions, office hours and executive introductions.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to new hires throughout their onboarding journey.
  • Departmental Onboarding
  • Partner with Hiring Managers to deliver tailored departmental onboarding plans using structured 30/60/90-day frameworks.
  • Identify onboarding risks and proactively work with managers to improve new hire success.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with People Operations, Corporate IT and Hiring Managers to ensure a seamless onboarding process.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks, benefits administration and equipment provisioning.
  • Provide managers with onboarding guidance, templates and best practices while maintaining consistent standards across the business.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Own onboarding surveys and feedback programmes at Day 30 and Day 90.
  • Analyse onboarding metrics, including programme readiness, onboarding satisfaction and early attrition.
  • Maintain onboarding documentation, manager guides and supporting resources.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate and scale onboarding processes while maintaining a high-quality employee experience.

About You

You'll bring

  • 4+ years' experience in People Operations, Employee Experience or Onboarding within a fast-paced, scaling organisation.
  • Experience working with Deel HRIS or another global HR platform.
  • A proven track record designing and delivering structured onboarding programmes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple onboarding journeys simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Experience working with Right to Work checks, background screening and onboarding compliance across multiple countries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use employee feedback and operational data to drive continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative approach and genuine passion for creating an outstanding employee experience.
