Position Overview
As a Weekday Delivery Driver, you’ll be responsible for the collection and delivery of goods, parcels, or equipment across the North West and throughout the UK. Operating under an AIT (Approved Independent Transporter) contract, you’ll use a company van to complete scheduled and same-day deliveries, ensuring exceptional service and punctuality. You will represent Steady Wheel Transport Ltd on every route, maintaining our standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily delivery and collection routes across the North West and wider UK.
- Safely load, transport, and unload goods, ensuring all items are handled with care.
- Complete and update all required documentation or digital delivery records using the Driver App.
- Conduct daily pre-journey and post-journey vehicle checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and care of the company van.
- Communicate effectively with the control team regarding progress, issues, or route changes.
- Follow all UK road safety laws and company driving standards.
- Provide a professional, courteous service to all customers and clients.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal points).
- Age 21+ (for insurance purposes).
- Experience in multi‑drop or same‑day delivery preferred.
- Valid Hire & Reward courier insurance (if using own vehicle).
- Physically fit and capable of lifting parcels up to 25kg.
- Excellent time management, reliability, and communication skills.
- Smart, professional appearance.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends if required (optional overtime).
Uniform and Equipment
All drivers are required to wear:
- Black trousers
- Black polo shirt
- Hi‑Vis vest or jacket
- Safety boots
A company van and fuel card will be provided for all delivery duties.
