The Role: We’re looking for an experienced IT Disaster Recovery Manager to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity capabilities. This role is critical in ensuring the resilience of our IT systems, minimising downtime, and protecting business operations in the event of disruption.
What will you do?
- Strategy & Planning
- Define and own the organisation’s IT disaster recovery strategy, aligned to broader business continuity plans
- Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify critical systems and dependencies
- Establish and maintain recovery objectives (RTOs and RPOs) in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
- Implementation & Governance
- Develop, implement, and maintain DR policies, standards, and procedures
- Ensure DR solutions are embedded across infrastructure, applications, and data environments
- Integrate DR planning with third-party vendors and cloud platforms
- Testing & Continuous Improvement
- Lead regular DR testing, simulations, and failover exercises
- Analyse outcomes, document findings, and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g. ISO 22301, GDPR)
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Track DR readiness and provide regular reporting to senior leadership
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of critical systems and recovery capabilities
- Lead post-incident reviews and implement lessons learned
- Training & Stakeholder Engagement
- Deliver training and awareness sessions across IT and business teams
- Act as a subject matter expert for DR best practices and emerging technologies
Essentials:
- Proven experience in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT risk management
- Strong understanding of DR technologies (backup, replication, cloud recovery)
- Experience defining and managing RTO/RPO frameworks
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 22301, NIST, or ITIL
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- Relevant certifications (e.g. CBCP, ITIL, CISSP)
