Overview
Senior Director of Product Analytics – AI + SaaS Scale-up – London (Hybrid). Stax Recruitment is partnering with a fast-scaling SaaS innovator to appoint a Director / Senior Director of Product for their Analytics Platform.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for shaping the foundation that powers data-driven decisions across the company’s platform, applications, and AI agent experiences. This isn’t analytics as usual—this is about defining an AI-native, developer-first analytics platform where real-time data, customer context, and machine reasoning converge to deliver insights beyond dashboards.
You’ll own the product vision and roadmap for a modern analytics engine—one built for both humans and agents to query, visualize, and act on data. You’ll also take ownership of the client’s in-app SDK for instrumentation and engagement analytics, transforming raw telemetry into high-impact insights across product, support, and engineering workflows.
This is a rare opportunity to define the future of embedded and agentic analytics at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Analytics Platform Vision & Roadmap: Define and scale a high-performance, low-latency analytics engine that supports embedded dashboards, cross-source joins, and both human and AI-native querying (e.g., Text-to-SQL).
- Productize the PLuG SDK as a Data Platform: Leverage in-app instrumentation (session replays, logs, engagement events) to power observability, anomaly detection, and customer experience analytics.
- Build AI-Enabled Interactions: Drive the development of agentic features including natural language queries, AI-generated dashboards, and real-time recommendations—bridging structured data with intelligent systems.
- Deliver Embedded & In-Process Analytics: Utilize modern query engines (e.g., DuckDB) to support fast, secure, and local analytics inside app environments and notebooks.
- Design for Multiple Personas: Create adaptable tools and views for developers, product managers, GTM teams, and support leaders—prioritizing usability and flexibility.
- Treat analytics as a product for builders. Focus on modular architecture, documentation, API quality, and extensibility.
- Integrate Across the Stack: Ensure seamless interoperability with knowledge graph data, customer 360s, product workflows, and AI agents.
Candidate Profile
- 8+ years in product management or related experience with deep focus on analytics platforms, embedded BI, or developer-oriented data tooling
- Experience with SDK-based instrumentation, session replay, or in-app analytics
- Familiarity with technologies like DuckDB or embedded query engines for in-process analytics
- Understanding of modern AI-native analytics patterns such as Text-to-SQL, natural language querying, and agentic workflows
- Ability to design for both technical (engineers, analysts) and non-technical (support, GTM) stakeholders
- Proven ability to work hands-on with engineering, AI/ML, and design teams to deliver performant, scalable systems
Why This Role
This role goes far beyond dashboards. You’ll help define a next-generation analytics experience where intelligent agents, embedded visualizations, and real-time data power every decision and workflow. With an extensible SDK, a powerful AI foundation, and a unified graph of customer and product data, you’ll have a unique canvas to build something industry-defining.
Stax encourages applicants from all backgrounds. Due to the expected volume we are unable to respond to all applicants but will message selected candidates for an introduction call.
