Stawell Gold Mines is currently opening for a Health & Safety Officer. This is a residential position and will be permanent fullâtime engagement, working a 5/2 roster. Stawell Gold Mines is an underground gold mine located in Stawell; 236 km northâwest of Melbourne. This historic region is known for its rich heritage in the exploration, discovery, and production of gold.
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Superintendent you will be responsible for:
- Assist with the planning, implementation, and auditing of the site Health & Safety Management Systems for surface and underground operations.
- Participate in risk assessments/JSA's for projects and works.
- Provide assistance and guidance in the collection of information and investigation of incidents.
- Participate in site audit and inspection processes.
- Assist in coaching personnel to establish a sustained safety culture.
- Assist site departments with the development of safe procedures and guidelines.
- Support managers and supervisors to ensure that all safety requirements are adhered to, in compliance with all statutory regulations.
- Be a part of the communication and feedback processes for site.
- Maintain effective document control and record keeping processes.
- Provide coverage for incident response out of business hours (onâcall rotating roster).
- Assist with injury management and returnâtoâwork coordination.
Required:
- Year 12
- Current Victorian Manual Drivers Licence
- Cert IV WHS
- Cert IV TAERTW Coordinator
- Cert III Emergency Response
- ICAM Lead Investigator
- Diploma in WHS
- NX Software
- Chemalert
- Level 3 First Aid
