Stawell Gold Mines currently has an opportunity for a Geological Sampler/Field Assistant to join our growing team of mining professionals. Stawell Gold Mine is an underground gold mine located in Stawell; 236 km north-west of Melbourne. This historic region is known for its rich heritage in the exploration, discovery and production of gold.

Duties include:

  • Maintain accurate information collected from development headings while working with mining operations to provide minimal downtime to other activities.
  • Process Drill Core to a high degree of accuracy while maintaining a consistent workflow.
  • General housekeeping duties at the core farm and laboratory.
  • Be willing to participate in other areas of the operation as requested.

Qualifications, skills, experience and other general requirements of the role:

  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems.
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
