Staverton Nursery is an established family run business situated in rural East Sussex between Uckfield and Lewes. Having grown plants for sale for 60 years, we have expanded to sell a huge range of plants and trees along with an array of other items from garden furniture, tools and pots, to giftware and food from our farm shop.
We are currently looking for two full-time seasonal shop assistants to join our friendly Retail Team for a 6 month temporary contract from February to July, working 5 days per week to include some Saturdays.
The successful applicants need to enjoy meeting people, be courteous, honest and helpful with a ready smile. Do you have a \"can do\" attitude and possess the following attributes? Then we would like to hear from you

Some knowledge of retail sales and display would also be beneficial.
Duties will include :
· Serving customers with their purchases
· Processing payments and issuing receipts
· Being aware of latest promotions
· Assisting customers locating their desired goods
· Reporting price discrepancies
· Helping to ensure shop area is stocked and tidy
Full training will be provided for all the procedures, equipment and systems we use.
This is a full-time temporary position for 6 months starting from February 2026. Hours TBC but will be 5 days per week including some Saturdays on a rota basis, 8 hours per day with a one hour unpaid break for lunch. We are closed on Sundays.
