Through the latest AI technologies and machine learning, we combine decades' worth of data with the latest in-game happenings. We then offer coaches, teams, professional bodies, and media channels around the world access to the very best data, content, and insights, improving how sports fans interact with their favourite sports teams and competitions.
Stats Perform's summer internship program is a paid 8-week full-time internship. Interns work together and individually within the organization to gain valuable experience and make an impact in sports technology. Not only will Stats Perform Interns have hands-on experience in their field of study, but there are also activities, training sessions with other Stats Perform employees, and an end-of-summer presentation.
Stats Perform's News Department provides broadcast, digital, social, and editorial clients video content about the biggest sporting news, names, and storylines every day in a range of formats and languages. We produce video for clients in the form of game highlights, interviews, press conferences, and fan colour in a host of languages including English, French, Spanish, and German. Football is the sport we cover more than any other, focusing on major international tournaments such as the World Cup, European Championships, and Copa America, as well as top-level club football including the Champions League, Premier League, Ligue 1, LaLiga, Serie A, and Bundesliga. We also extensively cover the world's other major sports and global competitions including the NBA, NFL, and Super Bowl in America, along with key calendar events from basketball, tennis, cricket, and rugby.
In simple terms, our job is to provide productions with all the material they need to produce content for our clients in a process referred to as 'Newsgathering.' We gather content in many ways such as shooting footage ourselves in the field, hiring video journalists across the globe to cover events for us, and using content sharing agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Using news aggregators and social media to monitor top news stories.
- Ingesting incoming video content into the CMS and liaising with video journalists on content.
- Providing production teams with breakdowns, transcripts, and translations of incoming content.
- Attending and recording live news conferences virtually and providing breakdown of content.
- Researching potential interview targets across a variety of sports and news storylines and writing questions.
- Transcribing and translating (if necessary) exclusive interviews and archiving quotes using internal project management tools for future use.
- Using vast archive content to write scripts and publish videos using the CMS system to provide clients with newsworthy content.
- Working alongside producing teams to write scripts and provide raw video content to clients using the CMS.
Required Qualifications:
- Entering your Junior or Senior year in pursuit of a bachelor's degree.
- A passion for global sports and journalism would be a plus.
- A broad knowledge of European and global soccer and other top sports including US sports.
- Enjoy working on newsgathering.
- Good awareness of sports news and picking out key storylines.
- Strong communication and organisation skills.
