The role is within the Base & Event Data Quality Management Systems (QMS) team. The QMS team functions as an independent unit responsible for the performance evaluation of Base and Event Data collection, the continuous improvement of data collection processes, and product quality of Base and Event Data. In your role as QA Base Data Specialist, you are responsible for the evaluation and documentation of Base Data collection processes and databases as well as proactively working on improving efficiency and quality. You will work closely with QMS colleagues and stakeholders from Data Ops to identify error trends, process misunderstandings, and contribute towards discussions on permanent solutions to persistent error trends. You will ensure that documentation updates are performed accurately and in line with data collection processes and arrange publication accordingly.
You will be responsible for…
- Implementing Base Data processes to ensure members of Data Ops have all the instructional material required to fulfil their role to the maximum efficiency.
- Creating and maintaining guideline documentation for Base Data across multiple different sports and Stats Perform databases.
- Being the specialist for Base Data process queries from within (and outside of) the business.
- Participating in, and contributing to, weekly and monthly calls with Data Ops hubs regarding performance and errors.
- Finding permanent solutions to persistent errors through new/improved processes.
- Fulfilling the QMS cycle – working with QMS colleagues to instigate marked improvements in Data Ops KPI scores based on new/improved processes.
- Working closely with the Training Lead for Base & Event Data to add updated approaches and ideas to the existing training plans, and to also contribute to new training materials.
- Presenting QMS successes through direct correlation between process updates and QC scores.
- Helping determine best practices for Base Data distribution and transition between data collection hubs.
- Handling translation requests for Base Data entities in the Opta Core database.
