Overview

As an Assistant Producer you will be at the forefront of content creation in a fast-paced sports news environment. You will be part of our global team of journalists covering the biggest teams, players and stories across the sporting world. With access to the best sports data in the world, extensive newsgathering and an exciting highlights portfolio, you will create engaging video output for a range of digital, broadcast, and social clients.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be scripting, editing and delivering your work to a broadcast standard.
  • Content creation as part of a sports news team that delivers broadcast-ready video for digital and social clients, as well as wire/raw footage for broadcast and online customers.
  • You will be reacting to the news agenda and pitching feature ideas.
  • Using Opta's wealth of extensive sports data to enhance storytelling.
  • Liaise with our newsdesk, international and support teams to ensure a smooth workflow of content.

Required Qualifications:

  • First-rate knowledge of a range of sports (soccer is essential).
  • A keen news sense and objective judgement of editorial decisions.
  • A flair for producing engaging video suitable for digital, social and broadcast consumers.
  • Experience of key editing software (especially Adobe Premiere Pro) to a broadcast standard.
  • The self-motivation to work on your own as well as within a team.
  • An ability to work with data and tell stories using stats and insights.
  • The ability to work well to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Broadcast journalism qualification or relevant experience.
  • An ability to film on broadcast-standard cameras may lead to additional opportunities as part of our newsgathering operation.
