Statkraft is looking for a candidate to join a professional team responsible for managing and operating commercial contracts related to our market access portfolio in the UK. In a dynamic business environment, the Contract Operations team is the bridge between the origination/business development teams and the support functions and takes responsibility for the quality of data, transactional validation, billing, market compliance, financial reporting and related services.
The role carries a great deal of autonomy and accountability and is suited to someone with UK electricity market experience who is inquisitive, progressive and methodical: the successful candidate will have initiative, be prepared to build customer and stakeholder relationships and develop the processes upon which the team depends.
As a Senior Contract Operations Analyst in this team, you will:
- Be a key resource in daily business operations (end to end contract management, for example balance settlement, contract settlement, invoicing and self-billing, rebilling and Elexon reconciliation, handling of complex customer requests, and providing input for PNL reporting, among other tasks).
- Foresee operational risks and proactively initiate measures.
- Establish reliable interfaces by working in close cooperation with internal and external customers.
- Communicate complex operational topics to stakeholders at various levels.
- Participate in multi-stakeholder initiatives within Statkraft.
- Drive knowledge transfer within the team, ensuring junior team members are well-informed and trained.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, either leading optimization and automation efforts or coordinating with IT departments.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for business processes, ensuring transparency and continuity.
Qualifications:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or similar.
- Extensive experience in a similar operations-focused position or unit.
- Proven experience in the UK energy sector, with a strong understanding of flexibility markets, balancing services, and distributed energy resources.
- Solid knowledge of contract management, market communication, and settlement processes within energy portfolios.
- Experience with SQL (ability to create reports, extract, and analyse data); knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with energy management data systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.
