An established national organisation is looking for an experienced Systems Accountant to support the implementation of a new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform as part of a wider finance transformation programme. This role is ideally suited to a qualified accountant who has previously supported ERP or finance system implementations and enjoys working across finance, systems, and business change. The focus of the role will be helping finance teams successfully adopt new systems and processes, while acting as a key bridge between finance users, project teams, and system implementation partners. You'll be joining a collaborative transformation environment where you'll play a key role across finance process improvement, system adoption, testing, training, and implementation support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of a new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations system across the finance function.
- Acting as a key finance SME between finance users, project teams, IT teams, and system integrators.
- Supporting finance process mapping and improvements across areas such as P2P, O2R, R2R, forecasting, and project accounting.
- Assisting with user acceptance testing (UAT), system testing, and issue resolution activities.
- Supporting data migration validation, reconciliation, and cutover activities.
- Helping drive user adoption and supporting finance teams through new ways of working.
- Providing training and guidance to finance users during and after implementation.
- Supporting system configuration discussions and helping translate finance requirements into functional solution.
- Assisting with financial systems administration, controls, and process documentation.
- Working closely with stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure smooth delivery across the programme.
- Creating and maintaining clear process documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
- Supporting ongoing system improvements and finance transformation activities throughout the programme.
What we’re looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA).
- Previous experience supporting ERP or finance systems implementations within a finance environment.
- Strong understanding of finance processes including P2P, R2R, management reporting, forecasting, and controls.
- Experience working closely with finance users, IT teams, and third-party implementation partners.
- Experience supporting testing, training, user adoption, or finance transformation activities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
- Able to balance both technical finance understanding and business partnering capability.
Nice to have:
- Previous exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Experience working within large-scale finance transformation programmes.
- Experience supporting system migrations, upgrades, or multi-system environments.
- Exposure to data migration, reconciliations, or cutover planning activities.
- Experience within membership, not-for-profit, charity, or regulated environments.
