An established and growing Managed Service Provider is looking for a technically strong Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join their technical team, supporting a broad client base across networking, infrastructure, virtualization, and on-prem environments.

This role is suited to someone operating above a traditional desktop support level, with strong hands-on experience across enterprise networking, Firewalls, virtualization, Windows infrastructure, and backup technologies.

You will be joining a fast-paced MSP environment supporting a range of client infrastructures, acting as an escalation point for more complex technical issues while assisting with infrastructure improvements, migrations, and project work.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure including HPE Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Switches, VLANs, VPNs, and Firewalls
  • Troubleshooting routing, switching, wireless, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and connectivity issues across client environments
  • Supporting and maintaining virtual environments (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
  • Managing and supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and on-prem infrastructure environments
  • Supporting backup and recovery processes using tools such as Veeam
  • Handling escalated infrastructure and network-related incidents within an ITSM platform
  • Performing patching, monitoring, updates, and general infrastructure maintenance
  • Assisting with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, and improvement projects
  • Supporting Firewall configuration and troubleshooting across technologies such as SonicWall, Sophos, WatchGuard, Fortinet, or similar
  • Monitoring infrastructure performance, availability, and security across multiple client environments
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Working closely with senior engineers, third-party suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain service continuity and SLA performance
What we are looking for:
  • Network Support, or Infrastructure Engineer role, ideally within an MSP environment
  • Strong hands-on networking experience across switching, routing, wireless, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience supporting HPE Aruba, Cisco, and/or Meraki environments
  • Good understanding of Firewall technologies and network security principles
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
  • Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy environments
  • Experience with backup and recovery technologies (Veeam highly desirable)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and server environments
  • Experience working within ITIL-aligned support environments and ticketing systems
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
Nice to have:
  • Exposure to Azure or hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience with monitoring tools and network performance analysis
  • Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts
  • Relevant certifications (Cisco, Aruba, VMware, Microsoft, Veeam)
  • Previous experience acting as an escalation point or mentoring junior engineers

This is a great opportunity to join a growing MSP environment where you will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies, clients, and infrastructure projects, with clear progression into senior infrastructure or network engineering roles over time.

If this looks like the right fit for you, please apply and I will be in touch as soon as possible.
