IT Infrastructure Engineer - 3rd Line

We're working with an established organisation looking for an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to support its on-premises IT environment.
This is a hands-on, BAU-focused role, centred on maintaining and troubleshooting a Microsoft infrastructure estate. You'll be working across Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware, helping resolve complex infrastructure issues and keep services running reliably.
A particularly valuable part of the role is experience deploying and managing SCCM and Microsoft Intune . Engineers who have implemented these technologies in practice, rather than just supported them, will be of particular interest.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 3rd Line support for on-premises infrastructure, investigating and resolving complex technical issues.
Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022.
Administer and support Active Directory, including Group Policy, user access and domain services.
Support and maintain VMware virtualised environments.
Deploy, configure and manage endpoints using SCCM and Microsoft Intune.
Support Microsoft 365 and Entra ID within the wider Microsoft environment.
Investigate recurring infrastructure issues and implement fixes to improve service stability.
Support patching, security updates, infrastructure configuration and ongoing maintenance.
Work with the wider IT team to manage incidents, changes and escalations effectively.
Required Experience
Strong experience in a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer or equivalent technical support role.
Hands-on experience supporting on-premises Microsoft infrastructure.
Strong Windows Server knowledge, ideally covering versions 2016, 2019 and 2022.
Solid Active Directory administration and troubleshooting skills.
Experience supporting VMware environments.
Practical experience deploying and managing SCCM and Microsoft Intune.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
