We have a full time, permanent opportunity for a Site Security Supervisor working Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00.
The successful candidate will oversee and maintain high standards of security, to maintain and operate systems and procedures to meet the current departmental needs.
To organise, motivate and develop a team to ensure that delivery results are in line with business requirements.
To be responsible and accountable for the efficient and safe operation of site security and to prevent theft, trespass or damage to the site and its people.
Responsible for Agency control and all central Services activities and personnel and running the site security team.
The role responsibilities but not limited to
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, directing personnel to safety and liaising with emergency services, site engineers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct shift briefings to communicate important safety, security, and operational information to Security Guards.
- Carry out regular patrols across ALL sites to maintain a visible security presence and deter unauthorised activity.
- Allocate duties, supervise daily activities, and monitor the performance of the security team.
- Provide induction training for new security personnel and identify ongoing training and development requirements.
- Ensure accurate logging and monitoring of all visitors, contractors, delivery vehicles, and site access activity.
- Prepare staff Rota schedules and coordinate cover arrangements for annual leave, sickness, and agency personnel.
- Ensure random bag searches and vehicle checks are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor CCTV systems and investigate or report any unusual or suspicious activity.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records relating to security operations and site activities.
- Manage the NET2 access control system and maintain security access records.
- Administer site access cards, including issuing, replacing, activating temporary cards, and managing visitor passes.
- Communicate and delegate tasks effectively to colleagues and team members.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of security-related consumables and process purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices as required.
- Ensure all security personnel and agency staff comply with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Support the preparation and successful completion of internal and external audits.
- Manage staff, visitor, and contractor parking arrangements across site.
- Take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and secure operation of site security functions, preventing theft, trespass, damage, and security breaches.
- Assume full accountability for the leadership, performance, and wellbeing of the security team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and key stakeholders.
- Ensure comprehensive and informative shift handovers are completed at the start and end of each shift.
- Conduct regular security inspections and audits, reporting findings and recommendations as appropriate.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with employees, contractors, visitors, management, and external agencies.
Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and have experience and/or knowledge of security services.
Experience of managing a team is preferred with the ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations in a professional manner.
