We have a permanent, full time position for an onsite Occupational Health Nurse. The role will be working Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00; however, flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees in the workplace, ensuring compliance with workplace health regulations, and developing and delivering occupational health surveillance and general health/wellbeing programs that foster a safe work environment.
An overview of the role:
- Conduct health assessments and screenings for employees to identify health risks and advise HR and site management on appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement an occupational health surveillance program tailored to the specific needs of the workforce, considering the workplace health hazards, including:
- Spirmetry
- Audimetry
- Dermatitis
- Drivers’ medicals
- Exposure to potentially toxic substances i.e. lead, mercury
- Drug and alcohol abuse
- Keystone vision screening
- Forklift truck drivers
- Night workers and cold room storage workers.
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with a current state license.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or equivalent or working towards.
- Experience in occupational health nursing or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of workplace health regulations and practices.
- Ability to build rapport with management and employees and foster a supportive workplace culture.
