We have a permanent, full time opportunity for a Sustainability Manager. The working hours are Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00. The successful candidate will be responsible for business delivery of the Stateside Sustainability Strategy. Ensuring all data gathered is accurate and clearly presented, in order to fulfil our statutory obligations and to drive Stateside Foods' short-, medium- and long-term Sustainability Strategy.
With an excellent knowledge of regulations, guidelines, trends, group policies and our customers’ sustainability policies and priorities, key knowledge will be shared with the business via the Sustainability Communication framework.
Overview of the role responsibilities but not limited to:
- Policy & Strategy: Develop and implement sustainability policies (e.g., Waste, Zero Deforestation, D&I) and lead the company’s sustainability strategy.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure regulatory and customer compliance, manage audits (ISO 50001), and submit reports (e.g., SECR, Manufacturer 2030, Packaging Taxes).
- Leadership & Work Streams: Lead sustainability initiatives, chair sector meetings, and integrate sustainability into core business operations (People, Planet & Product).
- Energy & Resource Management: Oversee long-term plans for energy, waste, and water efficiency; research and implement energy-saving projects.
- Data & Communication: Manage sustainability performance data, enhance internal communication, and publish the annual Sustainability Report.
- Engagement & Training: Develop sustainability training programs, foster employee engagement, and build relationships with suppliers and customers.
- External Representation & Continuous Improvement: Represent the company at sustainability events, promote continuous improvement, and drive lean methodologies.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies.
Ideally candidates will have experience within a sustainability function with a strong understanding of waste management processes. Candidates should have a sustainability and/or environment qualification or similar.
