Carey Olsen is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Accountant to join our dynamic and growing Client Accounting and Regulatory Team. A permanent role, you will be working closely with the Carey Olsen Caribbean Accounting & Regulatory team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend client meetings
  • Leading the onboarding of new clients from an accounting perspective
  • Review transaction documents and financial records
  • Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of holding companies and trusts in line with transactional and statutory deadlines
  • Beginning to end responsibility for leading the preparation of financial statements under IFRS or local UK / US / Canadian GAAP
  • Training and managing less experienced members of the team
  • In time, taking on a manager role and working with other jurisdictional client accounting requests
  • Leading the interaction with auditors and clients to ensure successful completion of the financial statements
  • Assisting with the preparing and filing Cayman regulatory Economic Substance Returns to the DITC
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, while actively contributing to process improvements within the team

Experience And Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 year's post-qualification financial services experience in a relevant auditing/accounting role within a Top 20 accounting firm or corporate services company
  • An ability to review transactions from an accounting perspective and lead the onboarding and delivery of all related accounting requirements
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge; with experience in IFRS and multiple GAAP standards
  • Experience in managing trainees/newly qualified accountants
  • Experience in management accounting and preparation of financial statements
  • Experience in a financial reporting role would be an advantage, though not essential
  • Experience in using accountancy software such as Xero preferable
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications with advanced Excel skills is essential
  • Qualified ACA / ACCA accountant
