Jethou Island is seeking a Full time Boatman / Engineer to join it's small team.
Good seamanship skills, firm confidence in handling a twin engine vessel with a minimum RYA
Yacht-master qualification are required.
The Boatman has the responsibility to safely bring overstaff and any sub contractors to Jethou, year round.
This equates to about 15 % of the role.
The other 85% of the role includes the general engineering aspects on the island including maintenance / servicing to the islands generators and vehicles.
Fuel management and delivery to the
island.
Applicants must have a varied knowledge of both diesel and petrol engines, including outboards together with some household electrical and plumbing experience.
Maintenance of our
work boat, dory's and rib's etc.
Applicant may also at times be asked to get involved in other aspectsof the islands maintenance in a handyman role.
Contract is based on a 42 hr week, Monday to Friday. 26 days holiday that includes Bank holidays.
This role on the Island is at times challenging during the winter months and the applicant needs confidence in boat handling and be fairly agile.
