State Street Corporate Compliance is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic legal or compliance professional to join our Global Human Resources and Global Security Compliance Team. The role involves engagement in the ongoing operation of the Compliance Oversight Program with emphasis on regulatory change monitoring and analysis of regulation changes for applicable employment laws/regulations in the jurisdictions with State Street employees. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Human Resources and Global Security Compliance on various compliance matters across the globe.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team that primarily supports Global Human Resources Compliance for State Street locations around the world. This position is ideal for an individual with a background in legal, compliance, business risk management, or audit. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated team of compliance professionals and to operate in a global, top-tier organization in the field of Banking and Financial Services. This role can be performed in a hybrid work arrangement model where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements. This role will be performed in hybrid model (4 days on-site, 1 day remote) out of Dublin, Ireland or London, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role with Global Regulatory Change Management for Global Human Resources (GHR) including conducting analysis of new or changed employment/labour related regulations and assisting with monitoring for regulatory changes;
  • Provide compliance advisory support to first line of defense personnel on business impact assessments for new/changed regulatory obligations and compliance issues;
  • Assist with maintaining State Street’s inventory of regulatory obligations for employment/labour laws and regulations on the Archer system;
  • Host/participate on periodic regional or country-specific meetings on regulatory changes;
  • Assist with management reporting and compliance issues, including the review and challenge of evidence for the remediation of compliance issues;
  • Help provide guidance on control design, policy and procedures for compliance with regulatory obligations;
  • Participate on special compliance projects.

Successful Candidates Possess The Following Skills:

  • A self-starter; self-motivated with strong organizational, analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to analyze employment/labour law and regulations in a timely manner as they relate to employers in jurisdictions where State Street has employees;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to deliver information in a clear and concise manner;
  • Experience working effectively with remote and geographically dispersed teams;
  • Willingness and ability to work as a team player with a good sense of humor;
  • Full professional proficiency in English is a must; additional languages are highly valued;
  • Familiarity with the three lines of defense model and regulated environments.

Education And Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; legal degree a plus;
  • 6+ years of compliance or legal experience;
  • Prior paralegal, legal or compliance global regulatory change management experience an advantage;
  • Employment/labour law experience and knowledge a plus;
  • Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint; Archer or CUBE experience a plus.
