Who we are looking for

This is an excellent opportunity to manage a small operational team responsible for processing international cash payment transactions. Responsibilities include first line management of the team, effective oversight of our daily GBP activity between State Street and the UK Market (Via CHAPS), oversight and control of all daily processes ensuring deadlines are met and risks and errors are minimized. We are looking for someone with a strong background in International Payments, including excellent knowledge of the UK CHAPS Scheme, and the global move to ISO20022.

What you will be responsible for

As the International Payments Officer you will

  • Provide first line management to a small team of payment analysts
  • oversee day to day GBP payment flows and balances through the UK CHAPS scheme
  • Participate in mandatory market/industry testing throughout the year
  • Manage and oversee BAU processes and all activity in a variety of payment queues and systems ensuring the team are accurate, timely and processing meets all required deadlines
  • Efficiently assist internal and external clients with complex research, queries and issues
  • Ensure errors and exposure to financial loss are minimized
  • Be aware of all business continuity plans and escalate issues that could involve invoking of contingency procedures to the supervisor
  • Support the effective functioning of the global team and the transition of workflow between different geographical locations
  • Complete monthly and ad hoc reporting and MI as required.
