The Role
This role represents a unique opportunity to join one of the industry's largest and best regarded global asset management firms. State Street Investment Management ("State Street IM") is looking for a high-performing, inspirational leader that will develop and lead its client coverage organization in Europe.
What you will be responsible for:
Client Coverage Leadership

Leverage sales management expertise to develop and execute a Europe sales strategy designed to grow our business and ensure the European distribution team achieves its financial targets

Manage sales and relationship management resources across Europe; define sales goals and drive results

Support the development & articulation of strategic plans and translate this strategy into actionable plans

Identify opportunities in new markets or market segments to grow the business

Build on State Street IM leadership position to provide differentiated solutions to investors

Build relationships with sales teams to best support their prospecting and client relationship management needs, ensuring effectiveness in the field and communicating results to senior leadership

Lead strategic planning for growth initiatives, competitive intelligence and business projects

Facilitate shared understanding of the Europe strategy and priorities across key stakeholders

Provide first-line leadership on client engagement issues

Translate regional strategy into action by aligning business activities to the vision and strategy of the broader global organization

Work with the Client Coverage Strategy and Operations function to ensure that the infrastructure required to support our clients, sales teams and relationship management teams are appropriate
Governance and risk excellence

Ensure robust governance and compliance with contractual, statutory and regulatory obligations
-
Act as the senior in-region escalation point for client issues, and for regulatory and other matters across the business that impact the client coverage function

Provide leadership to governance committees sharing expertise, insights and ensuring cross functional participation

Ensure a control environment that supports a compliance and risk culture
Organisational leadership

Lead collaboration across State Street Bank divisions to promote the franchise and create a strong outcome for our clients

Identify opportunities to partner with Institutional Services and Global Markets divisions to develop and deliver "One State Street" solutions to clients

Attend executive meetings to ensure the highest level of connectivity and contribute to the tactical priorities of the business

Lead initiatives designed to maintain State Street IM and STT organisational culture, fiduciary mindset and improve employee experience

Foster a culture of speaking up when there is an issue and group accountability

Additional requirements:

Minimum of 15 years of experience selling to and/or servicing institutions

7+ years of meaningful sales leadership experience, including success positioning active strategies and exceeding growth targets

Experience in an Investment Management organisation, ideally with knowledge in sales management practices

Experience in dealing with institutional and intermediaries business in Europe

Existing industry profile and relationships that can accelerate the success of sales initiatives

Track record of building complex solutions with and for clients, including active and multi-asset class strategies
