We are seeking a Front End Developer to join our Digital Asset development team. This is a hands‑on engineering role responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining user‑facing web applications that support financial services platforms and operational workflows. The role focuses on delivering intuitive, secure, and performant user interfaces that consume API‑driven backend services. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to build robust, scalable, and secure digital asset products that meet our business and technical requirements.

Role Description

  • Develop and maintain responsive, user‑friendly web interfaces for financial services applications using modern front‑end frameworks.
  • Implement UI components that integrate with REST APIs, ensuring correct data handling, error states, and performance.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate designs and wireframes into high‑quality, accessible front‑end code.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews) and deliver incremental features aligned to agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Write and maintain unit and component tests for front‑end code to support quality and regression coverage.
  • Work with State Street–approved design systems and UI standards to implement consistent, accessible, and reusable front‑end components, collaborating closely with UX/design teams to ensure alignment with enterprise look‑and‑feel and usability guidelines.
  • Support production readiness activities such as bug fixes, minor enhancements, and release validation with guidance from senior team members.
  • Maintain clear documentation for front‑end components, dependencies, and integration assumptions.

Core/Must Have Skills

  • Hands‑on experience developing front‑end web applications using a modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript, including responsive design principles.
  • Experience integrating front‑end applications with RESTful backend services and handling asynchronous data flows.
  • Understanding of basic front‑end security considerations (e.g., safe handling of data, authentication flows, avoiding common client‑side issues).
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, version control, code reviews, and structured development workflows.
  • Experience working in financial services or another regulated environment, where quality, consistency, and documentation are important.

Good To Have Skills

  • Exposure to enterprise UI standards and design systems used in large financial institutions.
  • Experience with front‑end testing frameworks (e.g., component or end‑to‑end testing tools) and CI/CD integration.
  • Familiarity with performance optimisation techniques for data‑heavy or operational user interfaces.
  • Digital asset knowledge: awareness of concepts such as custody dashboards, tokenized assets, transaction history views, or blockchain‑adjacent user flows, sufficient to understand domain terminology and UI requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams and working across time zones.
  • Exposure to Node.js for front‑end support or lightweight backend‑for‑frontend (BFF) services, including working with REST APIs and understanding how Node.js services integrate with enterprise Java or platform backends.
