As an Employee Relations Consultant, Vice President – UK & Ireland, you will provide expert support and advice to the business divisions and corporate functions throughout the UK and Ireland ensuring the effective management of internal and external Employee Relations (ER) matters and ER related risks (e.g. legal, financial and reputational). The team you will be joining plays an important role in the overall success of the organization. Across the globe, institutional investors rely on State Street to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability. To make that happen we need teams like Employee Relations to advise on a variety of workplace matters and to help manage employee concerns in the organization as a whole. In your role, you will strive for commercial and thoughtful solutions while also building manager capability and fostering engagement within our employee population. This is an exciting role for an experienced Employee Relations Consultant with deep expertise in the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities

As a senior consultant, provide timely and professional advice on ER issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, and conduct matters.

Manage a caseload of complex ER cases, ensuring accurate documentation and risk mitigation.

Partner with HR Business Partners and line managers to resolve complex employee issues.

Ensure compliance with UK and Irish employment legislation and internal policies.

Collaborate with key stakeholders on employee relations and conducted related matters such as legal, risk, compliance, etc.

Facilitate employee relations investigations (performance, sickness absence management, conduct, grievance, anti-harassment). Provide advice and support to investigating and hearing managers, to ensure a fair and consistent approach.

Support fellow ER Consultants in UK & Ireland in managing collective case load for these locations. Extend cover to cases Internationally as and when required.

Work closely with Occupational Health and Permanent Health Insurance providers to ensure early intervention on case management and joined up approach to managing and supporting employees on sickness absence.

Manage restructuring projects and effectively manage collective and individual consultation requirements.

Support the development and implementation of ER policies and procedures.

Support in the delivery of training and coaching to managers on ER topics and best practices.

Monitor ER trends and provide insights to inform proactive interventions.

Contribute to continuous improvement of ER processes.

Support and advise on latest ER practices and developments understanding changes in legislation and implementing them, as they relate to ER, where needed.

Participate in partnership with the broader GHR team on global, regional and country based GHR and/or business related projects and initiatives (M&A etc.)
Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience working at a senior level in a fast faced ER function (Financial services experience preferable)

Strong knowledge of UK and Irish Employment Law

Previous TUPE experience

Proven success in collaborating and negotiating with consultation bodies

Proven experience managing complex cross jurisdictional ER Cases.

Experience navigating a global organization and matrix structures.
