About The Role

State Street Custody Digital & Fund Services is seeking a Product Owner to help shape and deliver our digital asset services. In this role, you will help translate strategy into an executable product roadmap, support pilots through to production, and partner across the firm to bring distributed ledger and digital asset capabilities to market.

You will join our Institutional Services organization, working closely with teams that deliver solutions for asset managers and asset owners, insurance companies, and official institutions globally. Our client-facing teams collaborate across locations, products, and capabilities to deliver integrated outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support market research, stakeholder coordination, and business case development for digital asset and distributed ledger initiatives.
  • Help define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities for digital services.
  • Partner with multi-disciplinary teams through ideation, delivery, and ongoing product management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and maximize business value.
  • Contribute to strategic research, competitive intelligence, and ecosystem development to turn ideas into products and services.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services (e.g., fintech, capital markets, trading, or operations) with a track record of cross-functional delivery.
  • Working knowledge of digital assets and distributed ledger technology (e.g., crypto, tokenized assets) and how they impact the asset servicing value chain.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across teams.
  • Adaptable and comfortable operating in evolving markets and ambiguous problem spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and launching digital products within complex, regulated organizations (e.g., blockchain, smart contracts, tokenization, wallets, cryptocurrencies).
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance processes and large-scale business implementation.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using product delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Consulting experience.
  • Exposure to one or more of the following: tokenized funds and digital-native assets; MPC/HSM controls; atomic DvP; interoperability between legacy and tokenized flows; digital cash/settlement (e.g., deposit tokens, stablecoins, CBDCs); secure API integrations; KYC/KYB and transaction monitoring for digital assets; tokenized collateral workflows; digital ETFs/ETPs; tokenized money market funds and digital share classes.
