The Business Continuity / Operational Resiliency AVP supports the implementation and ongoing execution of State Street’s Business Continuity and Operational Resiliency program across assigned business areas and locations. The role works closely with Business Continuity Directors (BCDs), business stakeholders, and the Enterprise Resiliency Office to ensure continuity readiness, effective testing, and compliance with global standards and regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
- Business Continuity Planning
- Ensure conformance to State Street Resiliency standards.
- Support the development, maintenance, and annual review of Business Impact Assessments (BIAs), Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), and alternate recovery strategies.
- Ensure continuity documentation complies with Global Business Continuity Standards.
- Maintain records within approved enterprise resiliency systems (e.g., Archer IRM).
- Testing and Exercising
- Coordinate and execute call tree, work-from-home, alternate site, and scenario-based continuity tests.
- Document results, identify gaps, and track remediation actions.
- Prepare testing summaries for management and governance forums.
- Incident and Disruption Support
- Support incident response activities during business or technology disruptions.
- Assist with status reporting, action tracking, and post-incident reviews.
- Risk, Governance, and Compliance
- Identify and escalate continuity and resiliency risks.
- Support audits, risk reviews, and regulatory inquiries.
- Maintain required evidence and documentation.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a continuity point of contact for assigned business areas.
- Support awareness of continuity roles and requirements.
- Coordinate with Technology, Facilities, and other SMEs as required.
What We Value

- Experience in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, Risk, or Operations.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to operate effectively during time-critical situations.
Education And Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment preferred.
- Familiarity with Archer IRM or similar tools advantageous.
