State Street Markets Professional Development Program is a full-time career opportunity, designed to provide strategic and comprehensive training across our Sales, Trading and Research business lines. This program is specific to State Street Markets as we require distinct and diverse skill sets to help drive our global sales, trading and business lines. Participants will complete up to four 6-month rotations across State Street Markets, gaining hands-on experience within Sales, Trading, Research and other specialist teams. The program is designed to build a broad understanding of global markets while helping participants identify their long-term career path. Prospective candidates will have an undergraduate degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, finance, economics or a related field.
The platform has several focus areas, sponsored by our global sales, trading and research teams. Each assignment is designed to provide key learning and growth opportunities along with a deeper understanding of State Street Markets.
Program Highlights
- An intensive one week “State Street Markets” orientation at our Headquarters Office in Boston.
- The Markets PDP is designed to develop high-potential graduates into future Markets professionals.
- Through rotations, mentoring, formal training, and exposure to senior leaders, participants will build the skills and professional network required for long-term careers within State Street Markets.
- Access to training courses on financial markets, sponsorship for CFA, and essential business skills will be provided.
Who we are looking for
In this role, you will partner regularly with Markets business teams, providing support for key centrally managed initiatives. This includes delivering data-driven insights and trend analysis, contributing to product development efforts, coordinating strategic and ad-hoc projects, and supporting business leadership on day-to-day priorities.
The candidate will be intellectually curious and have an enthusiasm for learning and developing; be self-motivated, adaptable and willing to take on new challenges; and should expect to develop, or further enhance, the following skills:

- Strong passion for learning and commitment to career development
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills are required to work in our collegial, collaborative environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, working knowledge of MS Power Automate, MS Power Apps, Power BI is considered a plus
