Who we are looking for: State Street Global Market/Globallink is hiring a Senior Network Engineer in our London, UK office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and implement changes on the State Street Global Market/Globallink global ECN network.
  • Provide high‑level designs and design packages for OSPF/BGP within the enterprise network and for external connectivity with vendors, clients, and the Internet.
  • Interact with vendors to define connectivity requirements and troubleshoot any connectivity and security issues.
  • Define network connectivity requirements and present a cohesive design and implementation plan to upper management.
  • Create and maintain status reports for management, utilizing visual aids when necessary (Visio documentation).
  • Resolve complex network issues such as routing loops, BGP/OSPF routing anomalies, and analyse network device event logs.
  • Work with Fortinet firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Linux OS, ensuring proper configuration and TCP/IP flow troubleshooting.
  • Support and configure AWS cloud architecture and operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5‑8 years of experience in distributed applications and network systems.
  • Deep working knowledge of network protocols, especially TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, multicast, NAT, spanning‑tree, UDP, QoS, and ethernet equipment (Brocade, Juniper, Cisco, F5, Fortinet).
  • Experience with monitoring tools, scripting, and internet security.
  • Proficiency in Linux OS file management and scripting (Python, AI, or other languages).
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment and on‑call rotation.
  • Strong analytic, interpersonal and communication skills; proven problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
  • Project management skills and the ability to work in a hybrid remote/office setting.
  • Security certifications or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of one major cloud provider, preferably AWS.

Additional Requirements:

  • Occasional travel to London data centre required.
  • Hybrid remote working and office arrangement; participation in on‑call rotation.
