Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong and diverse borrower relationships to ensure State Street is their primary partner.
- Borrow and lend securities to cover and manage clients’ short positions.
- Provide daily color on hard-to-borrow securities and special situations to portfolio managers, analysts, execution traders, and treasury personnel.
- Optimize financial resources and manage risk to drive returns.
- Collaborate with partner teams in Sales, Client Management, and Product Development to deliver an exceptional product experience for our clients.
- Support the trading desk in strategic initiatives, including liquidity management, capital optimization, and business growth planning.
- Contribute to product development efforts, including testing new features, gathering client feedback, and refining the Prime trading product offering.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Superior problem‑solving, analytical, and technical skills.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, front‑office financial markets environment.
- Strong skills in modeling and programming – experience programming in procedural/object‑oriented and/or scripting languages (Python preferred).
- Ability to build dashboards using large datasets to identify themes and present talking points to clients and counterparts.
- Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with business leaders and technical teams alike.
- Extremely flexible with a “do anything” mentality; creative and willing to challenge current paradigms.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in Securities Finance trading.
- Self‑starter, motivated by making the entire team successful.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical discipline such as Computer Science, IT, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Science, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
