Why this role is important to us: The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department identifies, analyzes, and manages risk at both corporate and business‑unit levels. Strategic Risk focuses on managing risks arising from the company’s strategy, change programs, M&A, and new product development. This role supports the development of change‑risk management capabilities and helps shape the emerging Strategic Risk practice.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within the group and with cross‑functional teams to establish new practices for change risk and further develop existing areas.
- Provide oversight across the enterprise change portfolio and integrate change risks into management reporting and dashboards.
- Support the development of new risk‑assessment and measurement methodologies and frameworks.
- Manage prioritization of key activities, project plans, and related remediation work.
- Produce senior‑management level updates and presentation materials for the Chief Risk Officer, senior management, and board‑level risk committees.
- Provide a strategic perspective while ensuring high‑quality, accurate deliverables.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 6+ years of financial services experience in risk management, transformation, or change‑related roles within first or second lines of defense.
- Proven ability to design and implement risk‑management programs, including policies, standards, governance routines, and reporting mechanisms.
- Risk or project‑management certifications (e.g., PMP, FRM, PRINCE2) are a plus.
- Independent, strategic thinker comfortable operating in ambiguity and making judgment‑based decisions with limited guidance.
- Advanced problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to assess emerging risks and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to identify and develop solutions in nascent or emerging areas.
- Experience operating in a fast‑paced, regulated environment within an evolving risk discipline.
- Background in creating effective presentations on key initiatives.
- Project‑management skills and coordination with stakeholders across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
