State Street Global Technology Services (GTS) is seeking an experienced Business Technology Risk Advisor–Vice President to support leadership in identifying, assessing, and mitigating technology risk. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry methodologies for evaluating and improving processes, tools, and data frameworks, with relevant technology experience. This individual will contribute to reviewing procedures and implementing improvements, demonstrating effective leadership and collaboration skills to deliver results.

Our technology division, Global Technology Services (GTS), is a key enabler for State Street, supporting our business with essential data and insights. As we drive digital transformation through technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced data management, we need talented professionals to help us manage risk and deliver innovative solutions.

Each major technology function is supported by a Business Technology Risk Advisor–Managing Director (MD), who is directly aligned to a specific CIO function. The MD-level advisor acts as the senior risk partner for their respective CIO area, providing strategic oversight and guidance on risk management activities. The Vice President (VP) roles will report into one of these MD-level Business Technology Risk Advisors. As a VP, you will work closely with your aligned MD and CIO function, ensuring that risk management practices are consistently applied and that business objectives are supported by robust risk controls.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Support the development and implementation of process enhancements aligned with business objectives
  • Own regulatory remediations within the area supported; support SME’s with closure documents and approach to closure
  • Assist in planning and executing projects aimed at risk reduction
  • Apply re-engineering techniques to improve process efficiency, product quality, and data governance
  • Collaborate on metrics development and use data to drive performance improvements
  • Partner with second and third lines of defence to ensure alignment with risk management and control goals
  • Implement and oversee data management and governance frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance

  • Demonstrated understanding of emerging risks associated with generative AI (Gen AI) and agentic AI, including: awareness of potential threats such as data leakage, model bias, autonomous decision-making, and regulatory compliance challenges; ability to assess, monitor, and advise on controls for AI-driven systems and processes; staying current with industry trends, frameworks, and best practices for managing AI-related and data-related risks; understanding of data frameworks in the context of AI and cloud technologies, ensuring robust data governance and risk controls for advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security, Risk Management, or related discipline required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in risk management, auditing standards, and best practices, with at least 5 years in a leadership or advisory capacity
