High calibre team player with a strong knowledge of financial products and a focus on exceptional client experience required to join the Client Implementation Team at one of the industry\’s largest global institutional asset managers.

The EMEA Client Implementation team is positioned within Investment Operations. The team is responsible for the coordination and delivery of all new business and change events including:

  • Institutional client mandate implementation, benchmark changes, changes in custodian or administrator, variations to investment strategy, inkind asset transfers, fee changes, market openings, broker onboardings, futures clearing and derivative arrangements;

  • Product events such as new Fund Launches, Mergers, Restructures, Closures, inspecies and investor registration/participant account openings.

As a Vice President within the Client Implementation Team, you will be accountable for the controlled end to end timely delivery of new business and change events. Further, the role will require involvement in projects in support of the functional and organisational strategic initiatives. The role will report to the Head of Client Implementation in EMEA and will have a small number of direct reports/people management responsibilities.

As a senior contact point for the team, you will be expected to understand the function to a high level of detail and demonstrate a firm grasp of the subject matter so as to support and develop the team.

The scope of the role is broad and there will be regular and ongoing involvement with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilies:

  • Planning, coordinate and manage the successful implementation of change events and fund launches.

  • Responsibility for monitoring and oversight of event coordination, daily processes and key controls. Hands on approach and willingness to step in and complete daily processes where required.

  • Contribute/lead assigned key projects in support of our functional and strategic objectives, including the support of technology enhancement initiatives.

  • Maintaining effective working relationships and communications with the team members and ensuring they are developed and supported. This entails associated people management activities including goal setting, conducting performance reviews, talent development and recruitment.

  • Assigning daily responsibilities clearly to the team members, leading and motivating the team to achieve business goal and ensure quality delivery to our clients.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including other business lines and corporate functions.

  • Managing operational risk within the team, regularly review and identifying further opportunities for risk mitigation.

  • Ensure all functional procedures are kept up to date. Manage audit reviews and risk incidents as appropriate.

  • Supporting a culture of effective challenge to evolve daily operational processes, recommending and implementing changes and delivering continuous improvement. Being open to feedback

  • Demonstrate technical skill and understanding of investment markets and settlement. Providing advice and consulting on aspects of account openings and client change events.

  • Chair and represent the Client Implementation function in both internal and external meetings.

  • Keep up to date on market developments relevant to the function

  • Support of the broader Operations function as required.

Experience required:

  • Prior experience in an operational implementation role.

  • Experience with SMA, UCITS products (SICAVs & ETFs), Unit Trusts, QIAIFs, and UK Domiciled Pooled Pension Funds.

  • Broad understanding investment markets. Product experience desirable: Bonds, Equities, FX, Futures, OTC Derivatives, Pooled / Mutual Funds.

  • Investment Operations experience gained from an investment manager, Investment Bank, Prime Broker, Fund Administrator or custodian.

  • An understanding of asset transition/ inspecie mechanics.

  • People management and/or Project Management experience an advantage.

  • Degree qualified with a financial or analytical discipline preferred. Industry qualifications considered an advantage.
