State Street Alpha Data Service (ADS) is the data-as-a-service provider that is the backbone of the Alpha front to back strategy. Combining both technology and service provision to deliver significant data management value to our clients. We're looking for a candidate to lead our Implementation Leads.

The team you will be joining is part of a global, cross-divisional group supporting State Street AlphaSM. State Street AlphaSM redefines the common definition of ‘alpha’ to mean powering better performance and outcomes at every point on the investment lifecycle and is the first open platform from a single provider that connects the front, middle and back office. It harmonises data, technology and services across trusted providers to help our clients better manage their businesses. As the ADS Alpha Benchmark Services Practice, Managing Director: The position will sit within ADS and report to the ADS Market Data Practice, Managing Director. The role will be responsible for the management and commercialisation of the Alpha Benchmark Service proposition and client oversight.

The Managing Director will be responsible for developing a service model covering all use cases in the Alpha model – to include and not limited to:

  • Delivering indexes/benchmarks to CRIMS; ADP; external OMS; Alpha Performance Services and integrations with Alpha RPA product partners – Axioma/MSCI/Factset/BBG Port.
  • Leading the engagement with RIMES to develop and monitor a strategic product roadmap.
  • Negotiating commercial arrangements – supported by Alpha executives.
  • Managing the RIMES relationship on a day-to-day basis.
  • Overseeing the RIMES delivery of BAU and product development initiatives.
  • Assessing the need/integration model for working with alternative index sourcing solutions into the Alpha Benchmark services.
  • Working closely with Alpha/STT business development partners to ensure practice capabilities are clearly articulated and support business development activities.
  • Developing and maintaining a client-facing commercial terms sheet.
  • Staying informed of more general Alpha product changes (e.g. Alpha EDM) and leading the impact assessment and response to these changes.
  • Leading discussions with Alpha Index Hub Product and setting the quarterly/annual development agenda and budget with the AIH Product Lead.
  • Actively supporting key client engagements such as VTAM – to ensure the client successfully converts to Alpha Benchmark services.
  • Enforcing the utilisation of the Alpha Standard Documentation.
  • Working with relevant teams to develop and maintain the ASIS and other relevant practice standards.
  • Partnering with broader State Street organisation to provide solutions in support of any new client requirements that are extensions of the standard or in some select cases a client-specific bespoke solution.
  • Leading the deployment of AI opportunities to the benefit of clients and Alpha servicing teams.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills across all channels and levels of recipients including team members, colleagues, clients at all levels including C suite.

  • Must have experience in Front, Middle and Back Office services.
  • Deep experience in the Index and Benchmark Domain – including servicing complex FO use cases for highly customised benchmarks and ETF businesses.
  • Extensive experience with Financial Services data domains – Security Reference Master, Positions, Transactions, Cash, Performance, Analytics.
  • Must have demonstrated success in Practice/Product management.
  • Knowledge of Data Management, Data Governance, Service Catalogue, Data Lineage tools, Operational Dashboards, Process Monitoring tools.
  • Working knowledge in Azure cloud platforms and Snowflake.
  • Knowledge about internal and external integrations, triaging issues and implementing/recommending solutions to data problems and anomalies.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

  • University degree in the field of computer science, data management or other financial services technical field.
  • 15+ years in data management, product and market data roles and responsibilities.

Salary Range: $170,000 - $267,500 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
