Position Summary
The Teacher – Guidance Counselor will provide guidance and counseling, instructional program operating services, and instruction to the student population at Stanley Correctional Institution. Responsibilities include serving as a GED/HSED examiner, an academic test proctor, and providing educational supportive services to students and instructional staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and counseling to students.
- Deliver instruction as requested by the Education Director.
- Serve as a GED/HSED examiner and academic test proctor.
- Provide instructional and support services to students and staff.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Education Director.
Salary & Benefits
Pay schedule and range 13-04 with pay starting from $30.00/hour – $35.06/hour. Salary may include supplemental add‑on pay of $0.97/hour to $2.97/hour for additional credits and professional development.

Job Details
- Position may allow occasional remote work from Wisconsin.
- Typical schedule: Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM.
- FLSA exempt.
- Occasional assistance at other DOC worksites; travel not required on a regular basis.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Pre‑employment drug screens and criminal background checks required.
Special Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 20 credits in counseling coursework AND a school counseling internship.
- OR Bachelor’s Degree and 10 graduate credits in counseling plus at least one year of counseling experience in education, vocational, or career concerns.
