The Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant provides services to remedy abuse, neglect, exploitation or self-neglect of adults or children unable to protect themselves. The Case Worker Assistant will assist Case Worker I's with providing casework services in the area of assessment, family preservation and foster care. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing or arranging transportation to resources in the community as a part of social service aide plan.
  • Participating as a member of a professional team to plan services for clients.
  • Making requests for medical, dental, law enforcement records etc.
  • Making referrals to service providers, family group conferencing, seneca search etc.
  • Assisting with the completion of Foster Care Review Board packets.
  • Assisting with the transportation of children.
  • Assisting with child and family visitation.
  • Assisting with other administrative support functions to include correspondences, copy, fax, email etc.
  • Ensuring that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed.
  • Protecting the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
  • Performing other related duties to include but not limited to Red Cross Shelter duties when needed.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A High School Diploma and three (3) years’ experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration or general business. An Associate Degree and one (1) year of experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration or general business. A Bachelor's Degree or higher may be substituted for required experience. Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to and be able to operate a motor vehicle. Individuals must comply with necessary field work assignments. If you certify, by completion and submission of this application, that you possess educational credentials that qualify you for the available DSS positions, you will be required to provide a certified official transcript within two (2) weeks of employment.
