A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior professional with a background in investment promotion, business development and relationship management, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment (in particular as it relates to the UK and Europe and Victoria, Australia), to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network. Reporting to the Agent General to the UK and Commissioner to Europe & Israel, and working with colleagues in Melbourne, Frankfurt, Paris, and Israel, the Senior Investment Director will be responsible for driving FDI attraction strategies and generating new investment leads into Victoria from the UK, Europe and Israel.
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:
- Significant experience managing senior specialists, providing strategic direction, establishing effective targets and developing capability within a small team.
- Extensive background in securing foreign direct investment and business development into a national location and execution of a Foreign Direct Investment strategy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present at senior levels and successfully conduct commercial and financial negotiations.
- Excellent understanding of a broad range of industry sectors including renewable energy, technology, defence, medtech, and life sciences.
The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements in relation to relocation expenses (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
