The employer is an early stage Crypto startup developing a toolchain for shared, just-in-time applications that gives independent developers freedom to build powerful shared apps. It is an interoperable, low cost, quick to build, easy to manage, copilot-friendly and platform independent platform.
Missions:
Your role will be to ship code, iterate with customers, and join us in prototyping next-gen products and protocols. This role could grow into a leading research role, senior architect role or engineering executive role as Tonk grows.
Core responsibilities include:
- Implementing cutting-edge cryptographic systems across diverse tech environments.
- Designing and architecting protocols.
- Secure and efficient smart contract development.
- Frontend development.
Requirements:
- Agility to touch all parts of the stack, from frontend to database and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with applied cryptography, including hash functions, encryption schemes, proof schemes, etc., as well as the mathematical education to back it up.
- Expertise in designing and deploying distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of relevant protocols and the general landscape of blockchain infrastructure.
- Expertise deploying smart contracts to mainnet.
- Prior work on software dev infra and tooling.
- You have a personal portfolio site and/or active Github with active projects and links to projects to show.
- Ideally you have experience in web technologies, distributed systems, cryptography.
- Ideally you have worked on a notable product/project.
- Ideally you have contributed to FOSS.
- Ideally you have worked on a startup as founding engineer.
Contract: Permanent
Location: London (full time on site office)
Salary: 70 to 130k USD
Benefits: Competitive salary + equity + token rights + Paid travel + personal wellness budget + Generous equipment budget + 20 days PTO on top of 8 UK.
