MISSIONS
- Own the hardest backend problems across the system, from performance bottlenecks and scaling limits to correctness and reliability under load.
- Set technical direction for core backend systems, making principled architectural decisions that balance speed, quality, and long‑term maintainability.
- Design, build, and operate distributed services that run in production and are relied on daily.
- Identify systemic issues early and drive them to resolution, even when the problems are ambiguous or cross‑cutting.
- Raise the bar for backend engineering by mentoring peers, reviewing designs and code, and modelling strong engineering judgment.
STACK
- Languages: Rust, Golang or TypeScript.
Requirements
- Have built and operated distributed systems at scale multiple times.
- Strong experience in Rust, Go, or TypeScript.
- Deep knowledge of databases and data modeling, including tradeoffs around consistency, performance, and reliability.
- Known for solving problems others couldn’t.
- High‑agency and ownership‑driven, able to take ambiguous problems and drive them to concrete outcomes without waiting for direction.
- Crypto experience is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of web3 infrastructure, node operation, or blockchain security is a plus.
- Prepared for intense pace and an environment where hours can be long and unconventional, expectations are high, and impact is immediate but in return enjoying unmatched ownership and autonomy, exposure to systems operating at the edge of crypto scale and being able to ship fast and see real‑world impact immediately.
Contract: Permanent role (on-site/in‑person) in London (UK) or New York (USA).
Base Salary + Equity $75K – $500K / Tokens.
Work essentials: MacBook Pro, iPhone, AirPods, screens, headsets, AirPods, and cables are provided on Day 1.
Training and coursework in Crypto, Blockchain, Security, code, coding languages and other topics are paid for on‑demand to encourage personal and professional growth.
