At the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB, we combine biology and technology for health, nutrition, sustainable chemistry, environment, and climate protection. We develop processes, technologies, and products for patient-tailored healthcare, a sustainable bioeconomy, as well as a climate-neutral and resource-efficient circular economy, and successfully bring new solutions into industrial application. We conduct research at our locations in Stuttgart, Biberach, Leuna, and Straubing, and maintain close ties to numerous universities and research institutions in Germany and abroad.
To achieve a sustainable circular economy, environmentally friendly wastewater treatment is a key step. A promising approach is to combine green treatment technologies to eliminate the maximum possible amount of pollutants in wastewater. In this project, the performance of a new reactor shall be demonstrated at laboratory scale to determine the target parameters of a pilot plant.
- Literature review (state of the art and current research, working methods and efficiency determination).
- Planning and construction of laboratory setups, design of experiment (DoE), and conduct of experiments.
- Data evaluation, interpretation, comparison with literature, and presentation of results.
