Position: Commissioning Engineer (Industrial Boilers)
Location: Ideally based in the NW / Midlands / NE of the UK
Basic £49,000 per annum OTE £70-75,000 (including overtime, overnights, weekends, and allowances for travel).
We are currently working in partnership with a leading manufacturer of steam boilers and equipment to recruit a Commissioning Engineer for them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bringing Equipment Online: Lead the commissioning process for large industrial boilers, ensuring all systems are safely and effectively brought online.
- System Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform comprehensive testing, calibration, and fine-tuning of equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and safely.
- Project Support & Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other engineers to facilitate smooth installations and startup processes.
- Client Interaction: Provide ongoing communication with clients, updating them on progress, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain full compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations. Document commissioning processes and outcomes thoroughly.
- Post-Commissioning Support: Offer technical support to clients and resolve any issues that arise after commissioning, ensuring continued smooth operation of the equipment.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in commissioning, particularly large industrial boilers, or similar heavy industrial equipment.
- IT & Technical Skills: Proficient in control systems, automation, and diagnostic software to ensure systems operate to specification.
- Travel Flexibility: Comfortable with frequent travel across the UK, including working away from home from time to time. Flexibility for weekend and night shifts when required.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities to address technical challenges quickly and efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and teams, providing clear updates and solutions to any challenges encountered.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent). Certifications related to boiler commissioning or industrial plant commissioning would be beneficial.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Basic £49,000 per annum OTE £70-75,000 (including overtime, overnights, weekends, and allowances for travel).
- Overtime & Additional Compensation: Competitive pay for overtime, overnights, weekends, and any work outside of standard working hours.
- Travel & Accommodation: All travel and accommodation costs are covered, with allowances for meals and other incidentals while working away from home.
