Hackney Foodbank has a £1.8m budget to raise funds every year. We have a great team that uses corporates, grant funding and events to raise most of the funds. We are now looking for a digital fundraiser to support the team with skills they do not have.
The food bank has been rich in the past (after Covid) but this year is the first year we will experience a deficit. We can only have deficits for another two or so years before our sustainability is threatened. If we could add this method of fundraising to our suite of tools, that will help us to avoid deficits in the future and support the sustainability of the food bank.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with digital fundraising expertise. We don't have capacity to support the volunteer much, because we're already running at 110%. We're looking for the volunteer to lead us because we don't have the skills ourselves.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for someone who can start a digital fundraising programme for the food bank, and hopefully teach us how to do it, or convince us we can hire someone who will more than cover their costs. We have used social media in the past, but this has been hit and miss. We now want to step into the world of Facebook ads and possibly challenges. This is all new to us and we want to explore how it may help the team to meet the targets.
