The position is for a Quality Control Inspector, for structural steel and fabricated bracketry.
You will be responsible for dimensional checks and inspecting the weld quality of fabricated components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications, prior to and after welding.
This role is hands-on and shop-based and requires the ability and willingness to assist with various jobs in a fabrication workshop, including assembly, rework and other duties as required.
Responsibilities Inspect assemblies, beams, columns, brackets and miscellaneous steel components during fabrication and after welding.
Verify dimensions to drawings and weld quality to standards Identify non-conformances or discrepancies and work with production staff to resolve issues efficiently Assist with fabrication rework, and general shop tasks as required Assist new or junior fabricators in understanding drawings.
Use measuring tools such as protractors, combination squares, tapes, squares, and other measuring equipment.
