Start People are looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join their growing team in Peterlee.
This role involves working on a varied range of fabrication projects including structural steelwork, bespoke fabrications, stillages, and industrial products within a busy workshop environment.

Pay:
15.75 per hour (Paid Weekly)
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble components from mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
- Work from engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications
- Carry out MIG welding (and occasional TIG where applicable)
- Manufacture a range of products including:
- Structural steelwork
- Secondary steelwork
- Stillages, racking, and material handling equipment
- Platforms, stairs, handrails and safety barriers
- Use workshop machinery such as saws, grinders, drills and press equipment
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards and specifications
- Perform self-inspection of completed work
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace in line with health & safety procedures
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Fabrication
- Strong MIG welding ability (essential)
- Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
- Experience working with structural or general steel fabrication
- Good attention to detail and high standard of workmanship
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
