The Role: Multi Skilled Operations Engineer
This is a hands-on, shop-floor visible engineering position supporting all aspects of liquid manufacturing and filling. You’ll help keep the “machine” turning safely, smoothly, and consistently as we scale. You’ll work across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process engineering, supporting operational stability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering & Maintenance
- Reactive and planned maintenance across manufacturing and production
- Diagnose and repair pumps, mixers, conveyors, fillers, cappers, sensors, and control systems
- Root cause analysis and long-term reliability improvements
- Support installations, upgrades, projects, and commissioning
- Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams
- Support changeovers to improve flow and reduce downtime
- Assist with safe start-ups and clean-down procedures
- Keep engineering areas organised, labelled, and “ready for the next person”
- Contribute ideas to improve safety, efficiency, and quality
- Share knowledge to upskill operators
- Lead by example in safety, organisation, and professional communication
- Promote calm, respectful teamwork on the shop floor
What You’ll Bring
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing (liquid, blending, filling, or FMCG preferred)
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Ability to stay calm and solutions-focused under pressure
- A team-first mindset
- Pride in your craft and workspace
Desirable (Not Essential)
- PLC fault finding / automation experience
- Control systems knowledge
- Lean / Kaizen problem-solving tools
- Experience with CIP systems, flow systems, or viscosity-related processes
