Start Monday is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering business for a Multi-Skilled Service Engineer to join their friendly and experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with both mechanical and electrical experience who enjoys a varied role. You'll split your time between visiting customer sites across the South East & London and working from the company's workshop near Maidstone, carrying out repairs, servicing and refurbishments on a range of specialist equipment.
The company supplies and maintains machinery for customers within the butchery, hospitality, meat processing and medical sectors, offering a diverse and interesting workload.
The Role
- Service, repair and maintain specialist machinery at customer sites.
- Carry out workshop-based repairs and refurbishments.
- Diagnose and fault-find on both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service.
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 week in 8).
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within an engineering environment is essential.
- An apprenticeship would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Mechanical experience should include:
- Fault finding and repairs
- Replacing bearings and seals
- Rebuilding and fitting gearboxes
- Electrical experience should include:
- Fault finding and repairs
- Reading electrical drawings
- Safe isolation of electrical systems
- Knowledge of single and three-phase power
- Experience with welding would be advantageous but is not essential.
- You will also need:
- A full UK Driving Licence (ideally clean)
- A positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 - £48,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
