Starship has now completed millions of autonomous deliveries to date, travelled millions of miles, and is currently doing more than 140k road crossings each day. Your main responsibilities are:
- Driving improvements to our compliance framework: You will identify opportunities and lead initiatives to make a step‑change improvement in our existing compliance and safety processes, ensuring we stay ahead of global standards (e.g., CE, IEC, ISO, UL).
- Translating standards into requirements: You will analyse complex safety standards and regulations and translate them into clear, verifiable system and subsystem requirements for our hardware and software teams.
- Analysing system architecture: You will review the system architectures to identify potential hazards, ensure safety‑critical functions are robust, and guide design choices from the start.
- Conducting technical risk assessments: You will lead and document technical risk assessments, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) at the system level.
- Contributing to product certifications: You will be a key part of the certification process, preparing technical documentation and collaborating with external labs to ensure successful product validation.
- Developing validation strategies: You will work with our test and validation teams to create and execute test plans that verify compliance and validate the safety of the overall system.
